COLLABORATION

In the spring of 2023, Ashlyn Bruns was approached by Jacob Chen about the creation of his first album. He asked her to play clarinet on the track "August Lullaby," a waltz composition in his collection of original folk dance-inspired tunes and rounds titled Cardinal. Jacob and Ashlyn had been playing together at the local contra dances in Norman and Oklahoma City for a few months prior. ​
